Henry,
This is the fifth Outlaws show I have seen in the last calender year. You put together the finest , most kick ass band of musiciansI have ever seen in my 30 plus years of following southern rock. Your voice is just as good now as it was in the 70's. I had the pleasure of meeting You briefly at a hotel in Poughkeepsie and you're a genuine person as well. Billy Crain and Chris Anderson are such an incredable guitar duo. They seem to be getting better each show. Billy's showmanship is off the charts. I am so blown away by this live show and cant wait to see it again. Next time at New York's Beacon Theater. The new song " Tommorows another Night " was super. I hope it catipults You where You belong. My alltime favorites are " Song in the Breeze " and " Gunsmoke " . They are old school , Henry Paul , Outlaws show stoppers. This show high energy from start to finish. I hope you guys are kickin it hard on the road for many years to come.
All the best,
JC from NYC

i will never get married.........but i was 14 years old when outlaws outlaws came out and i was a big billy jones fan....what a voice......but was old enough to see that henry leaving was too much for the outlaws to overcome...his style and legendary voice were literally the outlaws.....huey was always so awesome but without henry in the background it was never the same so if i ever did get married i would want henry paul and huey tomasson (r.i.p) and monte yoho to play a trio

Henry,
Last time I saw you in person was 1983. New Jersey. You played a lot of gigs there as the Henry Paul Band. I stayed friends with Dave Fiester till his death and am still friends with Bill Hoffman. You always treated me well and gave me and my friend Billy Kortenhaus back stage passes and comp tickets for your shows. I miss the "Fiest" as I called him. I was also a good friend of Ginger, Dave's mother. I used to "hang out" with Dave in his "bungalow", that sat on his property in Cocoa, behind the main house. In 1984-85, I went to Aviation College in Melbourne,FL at FIT. I used to visit Dave and the Groovemonsters at the Thirsty Turtle and Brassy's. Great clubs. Boy, I miss Big Dave!! Oh yeah. I've had a few emails over the past year with Bill Halberstadt in Kansas City and Donnie Smith and Billy Crain over MySpace website. Thanks again! Most important. You have set a great example of PERSEVERANCE. Never ever quit!!! You are not a quitter but a "go getter" and a real man.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!! Best wishes,
Neil G. Wilson

Hi Henry,
Dave Ryan here, I saw you guys in 2005 in St Louis @ the Bottle Neck Blues bar. It's hard to except the fact that Billy, Hughie & Frank are gone. Billy & Hughie were southern rocks hottest guitar players. When I listen to Billy, his playing style & vocals were so unique, he was an underrated talent. It would have been something to see you, Billy, Hughie, Frank & Monte together again. But that won't happen now. Thanks for keeping the Outlaws & those great players alive & in the memories of fans like me. I love the Outlaws, always have. I'm ready to hear the new album, hope it comes out soon.Take care & God bless the Outlaws, esp. Billy, Hughie, Frank & yourself.

Hey man, Stoked your back with the Outlaws. Some of the best music ever was your guys first three albums. After you left the band, or was asked to leave, And southern rock as we knew it, was turning harder rock, If not down right heavy metal, The outlaws were ok, but, I missed the country rock side. So bummed about Hughie. Anyway, immerse yourself in Outlaws, Lady in waiting, and Hurry sundown, then put out another classic.
Later bro.

Hi Henry I just wanted to say that I saw you and the Outlaws perform last weekend in the pouring rain at Wachussett Mountain and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been to probably a dozen Outlaw shows in years gone by and that is the first one I have been to without Hughie or Billy. You have assembled a great band and you sounded great!I look forward to the next time you play in this area. Thanks .

Henry,
I saw you along with Blackhawk and the Outlaws play in Appleton, WI on August 16. I want to thank you for the great show, for getting the Outlaws back together, and for coming up to me and visiting briefly after. Your solo work and work with Blackhawk and the Outlaws has always meant a lot to me. I was happy to hear songs off of Grey Ghost. I’ve always appreciated the depth of your music.
It was hard to face the loss of Hughie and what I expected to be the loss of the Outlaws, too. Not much comes back in this life, but you brought the Outlaws back, offering notice to all life’s losses, that some things sustain.
Thank you so much for that and for your good and meaningful music. It really means a lot to me. I hope you and the band will come back to Wisconsin soon!

Hello, Henry my name is Rob Leger. My wife and I just attended the Wachusett Music Festival in Princeton, Mass. I was out near center stage with the Lone Outlaw shirt. It's really great that you are carrying on the Outlaws music since the passing of Hughie. I have been a fan since I was 16, and I'm now 50. I'm probably the biggest fan of the Outlaws in this area. I have every album from the Outlaws and every album from the Henry Paul Band and Blackhawk. Henry, keep the Outlaws going forever, and I'll be listening forever. The show today was awesome, you guys were tight. I think the rain added an element of excitement and didn't dampen anyone's spirits. Thanks for the handshakes, guitar pick, and autograph. My wife took a picture of us when you were signing it, which I've attached.Best wishes, Rob

Henry,I just listened to chapter 11 in the retrospective and was very amazed.I always thought you left on your own.It was devastating to my buddy and I who went to all the shows together when we saw you weren't there. It was at Grove City College in the fall of '77.We were like what the hell is this?It didn't seem as cohesive without you, and the screaming between songs instead of you talking really got to us.I don't know what those guys were thinking. The first time we saw you was when you opened for Skynyrd and Steve Marriot in Pittsburgh. We didn't know any of your names or anything at the time, but I remember giving my buddy the binoculars and saying watch the big guy snapping his head. That made me a Henry Paul fan that night.I always thought man if So Long and Grey Ghost would have been on Playin' To Win, and the success they had after you was because of what you guys did the first three albums and the tours from those albums. Most people probably didn't even know Salem. We saw the Outlaws every time you were in Western Pa. or Eastern Ohio until the show at GCC.We didn't go to anymore because you were gone and I still remember when I heard there was a Henry Paul Band. Then came the show with Tucker and your broken leg, then Eddie and Jo Jo's and Youngstown and all that.I became an HT fan later and when you went back in the Outlaws I started going to those shows again in '85 and '86.I'm a little different than most of your fans because my favorite Outlaw songs are still Stay With Me and Girl From Ohio.Anyway,I just wanted to tell you those guys made a big mistake, and it's kind of a relief because I always wondered why you left them.

Once again a big Thank You goes out to the band and especially Henry. The other night with Black Hawk playing at a very sweet concert (Sweet Corn Festival) in Millersport, Ohio. For my son's 16 birthday we took a drive to see Black Hawk for the first time...I guarantee it will not be our last Black Hawk concert...harmonies at their best...this band can play and sing!!! Thanks Henry for taking the time to walk over to my son and hand him your guitar pick. It is pretty cool to hear my son's IPOD filled with southern rock....and I am sure he will be adding some Black Hawk soon...can't wait to hear your live album coming out soon. It is really great to see how well Randy and Chris fit with both vocals and guitar work....Thanks again

Henry,
I wanted to thank you for signing all the stuff(strat, pick guard,Outlaws strap, and the shirt I had on) I threw at you in Washington. And thanks for taking the time to talk with my daughter and I.You guys were with friends and you took the time to talk with us and it means a great deal to both of us.That goes for Randy and Monte also.Every time I've had a chance to talk with them they were nothing but gracious.I didn't see Chris that night but he was like that with me at other shows as well.I'm sure Billy and Jon are like that also.Billy sure hasn't lost anything has he?
Anybody reading this might as well know this is a band of good guys, and they can play and sing.I would suggest if you get a chance to see The Outlaws or BlackHawk get out there and support them you will not regret it.
I went to Tionesta the next night and it was better still.I liked the way you guys came down to the wall of the pit there during GG+HT.Wish there would have been some shirts but I'll keep checking the web page and hopefully you will get that new one out you told me about. They say you shouldn't meet your heroes because you will be disappointed, well you proved that theory wrong.
Thanks again Henry and I hope to see you many more times in the future.

Henry, I had the pleasure of talking with you in between shows at the New York State Fair on Sunday. You were generous enough to pose for a picture with me and my wife. Both shows were incredible and we look forward to more great music in the future! I also look forward to more from your retrospective even though you told me that the stories you were telling were both "painful memories and some emotional shit" Your music is awesome and the way you all seem to be having so much fun in stage is so refreshing in a time where the performers are all about the money rather than their music. Thanks for the time you made for us in between shows and thank you for keeping the music alive. I have seen you 4 times since February and it keeps getting better! Again Henry Thank You!!

Hello Hank, Since the 1970s when you and the Outlaws originated many great hits, I have enjoyed your superb style of music. I originally saw you in 1977 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center where I actually payed to see the show and drove from Cortland. The Outlaws were the opening act for the Allman Bros, but I came to see your band. It was a great pleasure to see you again in 2008 at the State Fair! Thank you very much for the autograph. I really enjoyed meeting you. I wish you and The Outlaws 2008 much success with your tour. Happy Birthday.
Keep On Rockin,

Henry Paul I caught you with the Outlaws in Tionesta Pa last Saturday night. What a show!! I saw the Outlaws 2 or 3 times in the 70's and early '80s, and honestly I thought for many years those days were just sweet memories, but you guys brought it all back and then some. I thought when Hughie Thomasson passed that the music might go away with him, but you guys have kept it alive and taken it to new levels. Honestly, I sat in awe as you did the old songs......I haven't heard Prisoner for years, it gave me chills! Plus it was awesome to hear the HP Band songs. Funny and sad how Grey Ghost evolves to include more of us through the decades. Thanks so much for what you are doing. Please don't think of us as a bunch of drunked up fans at a bike rally......I talked to many people at that show who traveled many miles to see the guitar army again. What you have done and are doing has touched the souls of many people, taking us back to a simpler, younger time. May the Outlaws and their fans grow old together in good health and keep rocking for many years to come. Thanks Henry for keeping the music going.
John
p.s. I don't know how far ahead the Tionesta folks book the bands for the following year, but the Outlaws have my vote!

Henry,
Good Lord, I Don't Know Why, what a song! I’ve been following your music before BlackHawk (greatest music ever) and I must say this is one of the best. Is there any way you can add this song to the listening room. Also, it’d be nice to hear “Cold Harbor” again.
Keep making music….BlackHawk & Henry Paul has inspired me musically and I’m sure many many more.
Thanks for the listening room,
RM

I Hitchhiked from Tampa Florida to Grand Junction Colorado in my younger days.
Just ask Henry, You meet some real characters if you have ever Hitchhiked before.

Hi Henry, not sure why, but feel like I can call you by your first name. Like most of the letters you receive, I'll state that I have been there with the Outlaws since '75, even though I know that you started up the band well before that. Can't say how grateful I am that you and Monte decided to give the Outlaws another ride. Looking forward to hearing part 4 of your story, and can't help but think what a great read a book about this band and it's history would be. I read from a fan mail letter on your site that the Outlaws are about to attempt a new cd of their own with the current line-up. That's great news! Looking forward to that as well. I know the cd "Once an Outlaw" as been a topic of great debate and discussion with many fans as it pertains to it's release. Can it be said what might be transpiring with this cd? You, Hughie and Billy Jones have been with me in spirit all of my life it seems. IMHO, your 3 part harmonies were the best ever captured on studio recordings as well as live. I am a writer Henry and expect to have my first Western/fiction novel released this year called "Ugly Horse." I was on the brink of approaching the Outlaws and Hughie to discuss writing a novel loosely based on the song Hurry Sundown, then tragedy struck. Naturally I have put that notion to rest. I have , however, had equal feelings about the song Gunsmoke. But, ultimately, I think the best project that could ever be put forward is a biography about the Outlaws. There are many great biographers out there that I am more than sure would love to tackle that job. I write strictly fiction, so I would exclude myself from that group. Please keep doing what you do best, and I'll attempt the same for myself.
Thanks for your time,
dan currier.
Get back if you get a chance.

Hey Henry. Thought I'd pass along these photos of you from the show in Johnson City, NY a few months ago.You guys really tore it up that night! As a fan of the Outlaws since the beginning, I thank you for keeping the music alive and sounding as great as ever. We all miss Hughie's unique voice and tremendous guitar playing, as well as Billy and Frank, but you do them honor by pressing forward with a new lineup that expands on the music of the past. We look forward to the new CD, great songs from which were heard when Hughie was still with us. We'll see you again at the NY State Fair in a few weeks.

Just finished your retrospective. I've been checking it off and on and you FINALLY shared some memories. I guess it really hit me just how your life has been totally focused on your music. I'm in awe by how you have lived and are living your dream and am so proud that I have been able to be in on at least the last decade of your work. I really enjoy southern rock, but my heart stays with BH and I, along with many others are glad that you are moving forward. I can't wait to hear the live c.d. and your new single. You have so much to offer.
Love ya, Lynn
P.S. Will be watching for Chapter 4 and looking forward (immensely) to seeing BH in Nov.!

Hi Henry,
After some bit of searching on the internet, I managed
to find and send Billy Crain email. To my HUGE
surprise, he sent me email in return. What a true
class act the man is. At the time, we had just seen
you guys in Nashville at the Wild Horse on 5/9. I
guess what stunned me was that I KNEW you guys were
still on the road when Billy sent me email, and I’m
sure he has more important things to do than answer
the many fan emails he gets. Then again, that action
is part of what makes him, you, the Outlaws, and
Southern Rock in general what they all are. That
single action represents the defining link in us…
we’re all just regular people. The fact that you guys
are talented beyond belief has never tainted who you
are… and we fans realize and appreciate it. Couple
that with the fact that you use your special talent to
touch us all in places and ways no one else can, and
it becomes magical.
OK, that being said, I wanted to thank you guys for so
many things. Being the classic Outlaw fan (first saw
you guys in… ’74 or ’75… can’t remember anymore), I
was so humbled and depressed when Hughie passed. I
last saw him in Cherokee, NC at a bike rally a few
years ago… had the chance to see him again a couple of
months before his death (in Pigeon Forge, TN) and
thought… nah, I’ll pass… there’ll be plenty more
chances in life. How sad… to give in to thinking of
that nature. I’ve learned so much more about life
this past year… awful to think I wasted such an
opportunity. Anyway, Billy tells me that it is you
and Monte who are responsible for getting the band
back together. He also said that the main reason you
did it was in the hope that the music didn’t die for
the fans (or something to that effect). For that, if
no other reason, I thank you forever from the bottom
of my heart. However, rest assured that the bands
music can never die. I now have 2 grown sons (21 and
27) who are huge Outlaws fans. In August, I’ll be
seeing you again in Corbin, KY. This time, my wife
and I will be bringing our little girl who is 6. She
also loves your music, but we didn’t take her to the
show in Nashville. She’s VERY excited about coming to
see you in August. So, as you can clearly see… your
music isn’t going anywhere… except down in history.
BTW – you might just be the players… but also, you ARE
the show!
For many years after I first saw you guys, I had seen
you more than any other band. I think I saw you guys
6 times the first 4 years. My father worked for the
only rock and roll radio station in the city and I got
tickets to see everyone. For some odd reason, you
guys came through Knoxville more often than Marshall
Tucker… that’s scary. Or, at least for some reason, I
SAW you guys more than them. Eventually, over time,
Skynyrd took over as the ‘most seen’ band by me. Now,
with the Nashville show, I can proudly say you’re back
on top for me. Nothing against LS you understand…
it’s just that you guys have always really been my
favorites.
As for the recent Nashville show, I was the luckiest
man in the house that night… having the front-row seat
directly in front of Randy and Billy. After the show,
my oldest son asked me if I had enjoyed the personal
guitar lessons Billy had given me... haha. My
response of course, was “YES !”. He then asked me if
I’d learned anything. I said, no… I already knew
Billy Crain was one of the best guitar players in the
world… nothing new there. But, what really struck me
(and I’m sure most of the fans) was the incredible fun
you guys were having and the level of enthusiasm you
brought to the show and everyone lucky enough to see
it. What an incredible show. I’ve seen MANY concerts
by many bands… but never one like that. You have
brought the Outlaws back to the top.
As I said earlier, I have learned so much about life
this past year. The day after Christmas 2007, my
loving wife of 10 years was diagnosed with stage 4
breast cancer. It was her who purchased the tickets
to the show for my birthday present… and it was her
who insisted that I take the front-row seat… even
though I knew she’d like to be the one sitting there.
We’re not just husband and wife… we’re lovers, we’re
best friends… we’re as close as any two people can be.
She is my life. You guys did something in Nashville
that affected me so profoundly, that I’m not sure I
can get the point across. You performed a song that I
don’t think you’d done in concert since 1976… ‘Song in
the Breeze’. I’ve always loved that particular song.
But, this time around it had such a huge impact on me.
As you guys started into it, the words made me think
about Hughie and other former band members that are no
longer with you. I closed my eyes… listening to the
beautiful sounds and words. Suddenly, I realized just
how closely the words were tied to my feelings for my
wife and what was happening in our life… at the same
time, I realized she was hugging me from behind and I
was crying. There I sat… crying during this beautiful
song, on a wonderful night, during an awesome concert.
If anyone saw me, they probably thought I was crazy.
But, I didn’t care. The mere memory of this event
still makes me tear up. I have tears in my eyes now
as I type. Again, I thank you… but I can’t thank you
enough. That’s what you and your music means to me
and other Outlaws fans. I seriously doubt that I’m
the only Outlaws fan who has ever experienced similar
emotions, based on one or more of your songs at any
given moment in time. One last word on what this
event meant to me – I have since found and saved the
words to ‘Song in the Breeze’… should my wife pass
before me, she will take a copy of those words with
her and I will hold them in my heart until such time
as we can be together again.
Among other things I wanted to thank you guys for was
the opportunity to see Billy and Tommy play together.
I’m SURE I’ve seen them together before at some point…
but I can’t remember when and it had to be LONG ago.
What a rare treat for all of the fans there that
night. Maybe I’ll get lucky and Tommy will be playing
with CDB at the Volunteer Jam next month in
Sevierville, TN. Sure wish you guys were going to be
there. By the way, noticed you were giving Chris a
hard time about being late in Nashville. Figured that
might have been why you guys started the show a little
late that night. Don’t be too hard on him. After
all, we’d wait as long as it takes to see him. The
only guitar player I can think of off the top of my
head, who shows the same feeling, emotion, and soul
when playing is Warren Haynes… and that’s some tall
cotton in my book.
Hearing that you guys were planning on hitting the
studio to produce a new CD is yet another reason to
thank you. How awesome to know that you guys aren’t
just sitting on what you have done, but moving forward
and creating more memories and treasures for us all.
Thanks to you and Monte, I look forward to many more
years of old and new Outlaws music. The ‘Flame’ may
be gone, but you guys have rekindled the spark bigger
and brighter than ever before. I could say, “Thank
You”… but the words simply don’t seem to be enough
anymore.
I will close with a few of your own words. Although,
incredibly enough, not from my favorite Outlaws song…
they seem appropriate –
Those who don't believe me
Find your souls and set them free
Those who do, believe and love
As time will be your key
Time and time again I've thanked them
For a piece of mind
They helped me find myself
Amongst the music and the rhyme

In the summer of 85 I came with my brother and his friends to see you and the Outlaws in Middletown New York you came to my house and remember I drove you in my mothers Station Wagon back to the gig. At my house, you played my brother Paul's 12 string guitar for my father (one of the songs from the Feel The Heat album)If you still don't remember who I am, I lived in Queens NY and met you at the bus station in NY and we exchanged "autographed" pictures. I was just at my moms in NY and looking at your website and wanted to say HI. you are playing at Bethel Woods???? Hope you and your family are well... Paige Petrucelli-Meyers

Henry, I've gone to three shows on this current Outlaws tour. The band is exceptional and your vocals are totally on the money. Living in N.Y.C. I see alot of entertainment. Most of my old favorites are now vocally challenged, (Ian Anderson Of Tull, Doug Gray, Donald Fagan) and the list goes on. I was a huge fan of the Henry Paul Band. I remember as a 18 year old in 1979 turning all my friends on to Grey Ghost Album. I had all the girls in my croud singing along to "So Long". I was amazed that that song didnt make the crossover and become a pop hit. That whole LP is great. I loved hearing "Feel the Heat" at the shows. "Go down rockin" was another of my HPB Favorites. I saw the Show at Mulchays, BB Kings and Starland Ballrom. The show at Starland was the best show I've seen since the Who tore up MSG after 911. I am a recently retired NYC Fireman and My kids are in College so I'm recapturing my youth (minus the long hair). I will be heading to Sellersville Pa.where ever the hell that is. ( about 2 hrs from home) for the show there. Thank God for mapquest. I have spoke to Hill Billy Boy Crain recently and I told him how much I like his song ( Last Ghost Town ) and he told me You were considering singing and recording it. I think that would be a great song for You. I really feel this band is filthy right now and think you'll blow Skynard off the stage on the 20th. Make sure you have an Outlaws rep in the sound booth, I've seen Too many times where the headliners sound people lower the sound for the opener to avoid being upstaged. Bringing in Billy Crain was genius on you and Monte's part. He's added alot to an already terrific lineup. Gunsmoke and Song in the Breeze still give me goosebumps, and I love the lead in to "So Long". Henry, This has been a great ride so far, I hope it evolves into something big. I truly appreciate it. Hello Hank,
My name is Dean Parris and I live in Asheville, NC. I am a big Outlaws fan and have been since I heard you play in Columbia, SC with LS in '77. I had not heard of you guys at that time and I immediately went out and bought your first album and it has always been my favorite album. Song in the Breeze was my favorite song on that album. I live in the mountains of NC and most of the time when I am driving around enjoying our scenery you guys are playing in my car. (CD of course, the album would skip and I would ruin it.)
Me and my buddy John went last year in August to the Pigeon Forge, TN show and had a great time. Me and John were able to catch Hugie and get some autographs on that first album. Through the old forums I was able to hook up with Donna and John Gellman and they enabled us to come to the "meet and greet" after the show. We just happened to be at the sound check and it was so neat that me and John were the only ones there for the that. I was on cloud nine. Randy even came down and set with us for 30 minutes after the sound check and we really appreciate him doing that. I hope you were able to read the Outlaws messageboard after that show and see my posts and pictures from the show. I feel they were good reviews. My nickname was WestDean on that forum.
Since Pigeon Forge John Anderson and I have been in touch with John Gellman via the phone and he even came by my house a couple of weeks ago and played "Once an Outlaw" for us and ate some of the best "Tiger Wings" in this area from a small deli called East Village Grill. He was so excited about the new band and fired us up even more to come see you guys. We will be in Peachtree City, GA for the Saturday night show. I am bringing my Outlaws album and hope to get you and Monte to sign it for me. I will be getting in touch with John Gellman before we head to Peachtree and maybe he can help us meet you guys. You need to come here to Asheville and play some music for us. JG sent you a link via me about the club here in Asheville called the Orange Peel, it was voted one of the top 5 night clubs by Rolling Stone magizine. There are several opportunites for shows here in this area. We have a street festival called Bele Chere on the last week of July that drawns 350,000 during the three days. Marshall Tucker played here at Bele Chere two years ago. Also The Biltmore Estate has a summer concert series in August that will seat about 1500. The setting there at the estate is amazing.
Anyway, the MAIN reason I am sending this e-mail is because I want to shake the tamborine Saturday night with you guys during Hurry Sundown. I noticed in Pigeon Forge last year no one shook one. I am bringing one with me just in case. You would not have to pay me a penny and I would be forever indebted to you guys. I could tell all my friends that I played with The Outlaws. Think about it OK ? Blackhawk is great and actually my wife (Pepper) prefers BH to The Outlaws although she likes both groups. I think you have two good things going for you and I hope you guys are prosperous for years. Enough rambling, I wish you guys well and hope to shake hands with all of you in Peachtree City, GA on the 14th.

Henry, Love your version of "So Sad". It was breathtaking. When was it recorded? Any chance of you and Anthony Crawford doing a cd together?

Dear Mr. Paul:
I am considering pitching a project to a major network involving an hour long special showcasing successful musical acts of the sixties, seventies, and eighties that continue to write and record new music, but have no venue to expose this music to a larger audience. I belielve there is a hunger for your type of music. Would you be interested in The Outlaws or Blackhawk being part of this project? Please contact me as soon as possible and I will keep you updated on the projects progress.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Terry Matulle

Henry, I sure hope you guys make a date closer to Minneapolis for the revival tour. You sure have a load of fans up here just drooling for a show!!!! I see BH is playing Medina and I saw the 05 reunion tour there and the OUTLAWS filled the house. I talked to you there and had such a kick ass time at Medina that me and the wife loaded up the car and went to Clear Lake, IA for the next nights show. You guys have to make it up this way! You can also tell Wade Peterson who posted earlier wondering where the show from the Grey Ghost tour was in Minneapolis that it was at the Armory downtown. I was there and it kicked ass!! (well what I remember anyway. hahaha)...... Thanks for all the great music and memories, and get that bus headed towards Minnesota,Tom (GONZO)

Hey Goodlooking!
What a great website! I've viewed it from time to time, but today I needed a pick me up. Listening to your "song of the month" has been relaxing. My blood pressure, pulse and general anal ness has improved since listening to your voice. Thanks. Hope to see you this summer. Tomorrow is my last day of school! Hallelujah!!!

Hank,
I had both good timing and taste when I took to Southern Rock back in the late 70’s while in HS. Since that time, I have been to well over 100 concerts including most recently JazzFest in Nawlins where Derek Trucks blew me away as the closing act following so many great performances, including Jack White and his band.
I really do want to thank you for so many fond memories. My first Outlaws show was at the Spectrum in Philly when you guys opened for J Geils Band (1977 or 78, and u all wore silver). Toughest ticket was in 79 when you returned as the headliner with Hatchet opening the show. I then saw The Henry Paul Band that same summer in Wildwood, NJ and still remember spilling my beer as I raised it over my head and jumped up and down as you lit that club up.
In closing, I have to tell you that the Songfacts interview you did last June (and I just read when I googled you) blew me away…..thank you for that. See you at the Sellersville, PA show and I may even have to catch my first Blackhawk show with my country lovin' 22 year old son this summer.

I was at the Starland Ballroom show that you guys played the other night on 5/2/08 ( The Outlaws) and I just have to say thank you .Thank you for bringing back the spirit that has been missing in music for along time. The Outlaws ride again and so does The Henry Paul Band. I was right in front of you all night and took some great pictures and even a few great video clips. I would love to send you some of the pictures of you and the guys. Keep making music, I can not wait to hear some new stuff too.
Thank you again for a great night and the wonderful memories....

Hey there Henry, how's the 08' tour going? I only had the privilege of seeing the Outlaws play twice; the first was back in the mid eighties when you guys opened for 'Tucker here in Manitoba at a music festival called The Beaver Dam Lake Jamboree. The second was last August in Sturgis at Rock N' The Rally. I missed most of the set, but arrived in time to hear once more the magic that Hughie could draw from his Strat. You may remember playing a bar here in Brandon called the 40 with Blackhawk a while back [think it was about February of 06'???] There are lots of die hard Outlaws fans in Manitoba who would travel to the ends of the earth to see you guys again. Why don't you talk to Heidi at the Trails West [The 40] and see if there is a slot in your tour that you would have time to sneak across the border into Canada?

Henry,
I know that Blackhawk does "meet & greets" as part of their fan club.
Any chance of the Outlaws doing meet & greets on this tour?
Thanks,

Hank,
Thanks for taking a minute to talk over the fence. It was a very good show. Thanks also for getting the "Cigar City Madman" back on the road. His energy must be a great tonic for the somber moments of this tour. Hitting the high A on Ghost Riders--you amaze me. You are proof that it really pays to take care of yourself.
I also appreciate the wisdom in not paying attention to the small number (as you pointed out) of naysayers.
Quite a few years ago I heard "Wheels" for the first time and thought "could that be the Outlaws?" The guitar riff, the vocal blend, had the vibe. Of course it was Restless Heart, but my point is, it could have been the Outlaws. It would be quite a feat to put the Outlaws in the ears of a new generation.
As I told you, seeing the Outlaws at the Bayfront in 1974 was a unique musical experience, but I don't come out to try and relive the past. I bought the HPB albums and the Blackhawk CDs. If you put out some new Outlaws materiel, I'll listen.
Thanks again for giving me something worth listening to,
Jack White

Henry, Just a quick question. I just bought the Henry Paul Band Grey Ghost Tour T-shirt from your website. It lists the cities on the back. It lists Minneapolis as a tour stop. I live there. Can you tell me which venue the HPB played there in 1979? Looking forward to, hopefully, an Outlaws/Blackhawk gig at the Medina. Maybe even both bands one night each?
Thanks for your help, love your new website...
